Our Program
The San Antonio Express-News and MySA are thrilled to announce the launch of our annual Salute to Nurses program, which is dedicated to recognizing the exceptional contributions of nurses in our community. Despite the ongoing demands and complexities of the healthcare landscape, nurses have remained steadfast in their commitment to providing compassionate care and unwavering support to those in need.
Nominations for this year's Salute to Nurses program are now open, providing an opportunity for colleagues, family members, friends, and patients to honor deserving nurses across 18 healthcare specialties. Whether it's a nurse's dedication to patient care, leadership within their field, or extraordinary acts of kindness, we invite everyone to nominate the nurses who have made a difference in their lives.
All nominated nurses will be acknowledged in a special section of the San Antonio Express-News published on May 12. In partnership with the Texas Nursing Association - District 8, a blind judging process will be conducted to select a Best-in-class nurse for each category. These outstanding nurses will be celebrated at an event hosted at the Doseum on May 5, where they will be recognized for their exemplary service and dedication to the nursing profession.
Reflecting on the significance of the Salute to Nurses program, Express-News CRO Kate Weber emphasized the importance of honoring nurses. "San Antonio's nurses are the heart and soul of our community's healthcare, and it's an honor to shine a spotlight on their incredible dedication and compassion.
